Foodie Friday: Dad's whole-wheat waffles

image

No food blog would be representative of my favorites if it didn't include one of my go-to recipes (which goes WAY beyond breakfast!!)  My dad makes THE best whole-wheat waffles you've ever had in your life.  Go here for the recipe (may I suggest to you that these would make a great Saturday morning breakfast to start your weekend on a great note tomorrow?  Or brunch?  Or dinner?)

Yum! Thanks for your Dad's wonderful waffle recipe! I had heard the waffle song mentioned over the years but never what it was exactly. Very sweet tradition! Thanks for sharing. Love, Aunt Pam

we had these for dinner last night! I am still nibbling on the last one leftover. You just can't go wrong with breakfast/dessert for DINNER. They were excellent!!! Thanks for the recipe!

I always thought Albinoni's Adagio in G was the waffle song, too. Maybe it was that whole "Best of Baroque" CD?

Mary Beth, I was going off of Ruth's blog post about when she and Jordan went to the symphony (I think for valentine's day?) I LOVE Albinoni's Adagio in G, but it seems a little slow and mournful for the Waffle Song, which I remember as super upbeat and lots of running around--but then again, the Mozart didn't sound super familiar to me when I was listening to it the other day.

Then again, by choice I would listen to the Four Seasons over almost anything else ever written, so that may be blurring out other musical memories....
