so...the expression "sleeping like a baby" was not brought into general use by anyone who had ever been around a child.

this is how my baby sleeps: she wuffles, sighs, squeaks (from both ends), coos, giggles, chokes, you name it, she does it. she has an entire repertoire of noises designed to wake the most peacefully slumbering adult into a state of adrenaline-charged panic, sure that she is being smothered by her sleeve only to find that she is apparently, once again, having a nightmare. presumably about the nose-sucker, which is the only scary thing in her life. other than abigail, whose loving ministrations tend to be a bit heavy-handed.
