by the numbers

1 eye infection
2 bronchitis sufferers
3 tries to spell my own name correctly when signing a receipt yesterday
4 sinus infections
5 pharmacy visits
6 seconds to actually remember my own name so that I could then proceed to misspell it
7 number of times Isaac woke up last night
8 different medication schedules
13 number of times stuffed-nose Isaac latches on and off per minute when nursing
14 days since the first sickness appeared in our family
25 minutes checking out at the grocery store with all 3 kids (not in line. just checking out with a brand-new checker.)
15 minutes--promised wait time for our prescription (spent sitting in the car with the kids outside the pharmacy)
48 minutes--actual wait time for prescription (sad to say, I was NOT polite about this when they finally handed it over)


it's like a really grotesque parody of "The Twelve Days of Christmas." Usually I am so gung-ho about the holidays, but this year it feels like December is just on hold.
